STUDIO

INTRODUCTION

NEW STUDIO

Some time ago, with our increasing collaboration with artists and growing demand for large-scale art fabrication projects, it became clear that we needed more space.  As it was not possible to expand in our 60m
2 workshop near the Estonian Contemporary Art Museum (EKKM), in May 2019 we took the step of expanding into a freshly renovated space in an up-and-coming neighbourhood of Northern Tallinn, where we opened the VALGE KUUP STUDIO.

In addition to providing more space for large-scale artwork fabrication, the new studio has made it possible to continue developing our skills.

At Valge Kuup we can offer a fully integrated service to assist artists on every level, from budgeting, design and prototyping, production, installation and deinstallation to packing, transport and storage.

The additional space has now made it possible for us to store finished works between exhibitions. We also provide custom-made crates for art transportation.

Last year we hosted a number of outstanding Estonian
artists and assisted them in preparing for their upcoming exhibitions.

    • Kristi Kongi for “Open Collections: The Artist Takes the Floor” in Kumu Art Museum,
    • Merike Estna for an international group exhibition “A Situation” in Tallinn City gallery and her solo exhibition "Ghost of the future, filled with memories of past” in Moderna Museet Malmö, and
    • Anna Kaarma for her solo “on the Threshold” in Hobusepea gallery.
